In this video Shelter uses the juxtaposition between the two scenes of fiction and reality to highlight the struggles many children are facing when at risk of homelessness. This video highlights how these children have to use their imagination to escape their harsh reality , through the difference between the saturated space scene and the realistic house scene -creating sympathy for the child’s situation and encouraging donations to the charity. The use of a child would likely create more sympathy than if an adult is represented as children are often perceived as helpless and pure.

"A Braver Man" - Media Magazine article issue 85

 In spring 2023 the conservative governments Home Secretary, Stella Brakeman gave a speech talking about how waves of illegal migrants are entering the UK. Many would argue this is a common sentiment Conservative Party members have echoed in order to gain more support from their voters as part of "populist policy" due to the topic often energising lower income voters who feel as if their jobs are being taken by migrants. In response to this speech Gary Lineker (a BBC sports presenter) tweeted "There is no huge influx we take far fewer refugees than other major European countries. This is an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s". Many believe in this tweet Lineker was likening Bravemen to a Nazi. As a result of this many called for him to step down from his position in the BBC as they believe that due to the institutions mission of "Inform, educate, and entertain" as well as their job to be impartial - it was unprofessional for a top-paid presenter to 'attack' a member of the conservative government, especially with a serious insult of comparing Bravemen to a nazi. This controversy caused Lineker to be suspended. As a protest of his 'victimisation' his cohosts on the popular football tv show ‘Match of the day’ refused to do the show. Later Lineker was reinstated without having to make an apology due to his position as a sports commentator instead of a political journalist.
